What we’ve done
Here are just a handful of the wonderful things the group have achieved so far.

Valley Park Wins
The 2024 Green Flag awards have just come out and we have won this fantastic award recognition. This is the first time we have won and couldn’t be more proud of our community.

Emergency First Aid
Friends of Valley Park have enlisted many members to gain their vital first aid qualifications and training.

Dry weather leads to damn control
With a recent spell of dry weather the volunteers installed a water control damn to help with the wildlife and pond retaining water and helping the stream flow.

Love Northumberland
In 2023 we won the award for the Best Urban Project in the LOVE Northumberland Awards.

Love Cramlington
Friends of Valley Park was proud to win the #LoveCramlington ‘Green Champions Award’ for the second year running 2022/2023.

Pathways installed
As part of the redevelopment plan, Valley Park had many new paths and walkways installed.

Queen’s memorial
As part of the Queen’s memorial project we have installed new ponds and viewing platforms.

Notice boards
Our first successful funding bids enabled us to buy insurance and pay for a noticeboard which we commissioned the Cramlington Man Shed to make for us. This enabled us to inform visitors to the site about our work, events and projects.

Fixing boundary fences
Valley Park was established on farmland several decades ago. Volunteers have helped to retain a little of the site’s history by repairing the boundary fence.

Path Maintenance
The volunteers continuously maintain the path network through the site.

Planting new tree saplings
There has been several new areas for new growth and the volunteers have been adding to the orchard and other areas with new tree saplings.
More is yet to come!
